I don’t want anything elaborate, just trying to get some curb appeal. My house is on a corner. The front of the house faces the East and the street side is South. The street side gets a LOT of sun.

Golden Vicary privet and crimson barberry shrubs go well together, easy to maintain and inexpensive. Althea, burning bush, and butterfly bushes are also easy. good luck.

Well, we don’t know which hardiness zone you’re in, and that will make a BIG difference.
Two great resources are and. Both will let you search for plants, trees and shrubs by zone.
One thought…perennials tend to be somewhat less expensive than shrubs (and, if you don’t like trimming shrubs, they’re great). They also add color, especially if you mix it up and have lots of different types of plants. Many perennials thrive in full sun (daisies, Black-eyed Susans, daylilies, sedum…).
