I just bought a new house with a basic lawn and was wondering what I could do to make it look perfect. All I’ve heard so far is use fertalizer about once a month. I really need a good go-to referrence. Thanks!

I’d recomend the HGTV website. They have all sorts of low cost ideas and tips. I put their link below and you’ll be able to find the lawn care section easly from there.

will take you to the same place.
Start by clicking on “annual program”. You’ll be asked for your zip code and grass type. What you’ll get is a rough outline of what to put down and when. Then, go to their discussion forums for answers to specific questions, or more details. Those forums are full of very knowledgable, helpful people.

If you want to go the organic route, try SafeLawns.org.
Honestly, read the warnings on the back of a fertilizer bag. Do you want your kids and pets exposed to these chemicals?
