What are the large circles on the New Mexico landscape?

When flying above NM in an airliner, at 36,000 feet, I see these large circles on the landscape that look like crop circles. They differ in size, but all are generally circles…there are hundreds of them. What are they? Is this some type of farming technque?

That is the irrigation system for crops. No, it is not aliens or anything like that. They are in most farming areas, not just New Mexico. Arizona, California also have them.

That’s correct, its from the irrigation of crops. A big long tube is suspended on wheels above the crops and attached at a central point. It spins around that point to drop the water to the crops below. only the crops that come in contact with the water grow making thousands of green circles in the fields.
