Its all about promoting yourself. Put an add in the local paper. Make sure the phone directory has your ad ready for the next time they print, distribute flyers via letterbox drop, put flyers on a notice board. If you have a bit of money to work with, placa an ad on the radio. Get a couple of plastic signs made up, and stake one in your front yard. Have you seen the magnets that you can get made, large enough for your car? You just stick them on the side of your work car.

Call a costume company they supply all kinds for you and will design the coveralls for a price. If you want customers, learn how to spell and properly promote your enterprise. Very few will employ you if they feel you are not competent to spell properly or use spell check.

Make up a whole bunch of fliers and print them on colorful card stock. Maybe offer a special deal for your first service–Introductory Offer. Then pass them out in the neighborhood, but don’t make a mess. Walk around and place them on the front step. Post them in the nearby grocery stores if they have a bulletin board and allow it. Call the small local paper or free paper for your community as tell them you want to place an add under yard/landscaping service: Mr. Q’s Landscaping Service, specializing in . . . . Senior citizen discount. Courteous, responsible service. Bonded, licensed, insured. Call XXX-XXX-XXXX.

    Good luck.

Churches are a great way to start! They are always looking for help at a decent cost! The next best thing to do is send mailers out.

Talk to local nurseries. Most of them sell the plants, not install them. I own one and when people ask me if we install, I say no, but here are a few landscapers that have left there info with me.
