The theme is “garden,” so flowers and bugs. I have a large backyard with several ornamental pears. The kids are mainly preschool age. Do I just attach indoor decorations to the fence and hang things from trees? Not sure what to do, but I want it to look special.

How long do you have to wait after a new home is put in to hardscape the outside. The house has a basement and they want to put in 2 six foot tall retaining walls.

Veritatum17 asked: My backyard has an inconvenient slope that directs water at my basement and is too steep to plant anything. On one side it currently has a 4′ lumber retaining wall which is rotting. I’d like to replace it all with a series of smaller masonry retaining walls to improve drainage and allow for a vegetable and herb garden.
Any idea on where to find resources to help me plan this venture out?

My parents have a huge backyard without a fence and a fairly busy street runs next to our yard. I don’t have money to build something, but I’d like advice on how to use things from around the house to close off a private area.

Inali K asked: Can someone tell me the differences in those fields as in what their job responsibilities are, skill requirements, salary, etc? Thank you very much!

I am incredibly interested in Landscape Architecture, however, there are limited colleges near me (I already have to drive 2 hours to Tampa for LA college). Also, I am currently a concept artist/illustrator and skilled with Photoshop, so maybe landscape designer is best for me?

John asked: How does a camera know that its taking a portrait or landscape computer?
Because, say if you are taking a picture in, no mater how you rotate it, how does the camera know you are taking a portrait picture?
