We have tried several different shrubs around our house and none of them have done very well. Id like something that grows pretty fast and is easy to care for. The light varies around the house, so anything from shade to sun would work.

Joe S asked: We had some contractors remove a small bush (about 2 feet in diameter) in order to do some concrete work. Being concrete workers and not landscapers, they only left about a one foot diameter root ball. That was fine since we were planning to just discard it. However, we changed our minds and decided to replant it even though we suspect that it does not have adequate roots.
This is an evergreen (essentially looks like a squat Christmas tree). Prior to transplanting, it was about 5 or 6 years old and appeared healthy. It has always been in a location that gets lots of sun and was moved to another sunny location. We live in central Ohio.
Let me know if you need more information. I can find out the exact name of the species if that would help. Thanks!

Laysha-30-SWF asked: New ppl have moved in beside me and their drive way is right along my property line. They literally only have less than a couple feet of grass before my property line and they are constantly driving up on the grass, ruining it.
Even though it technically is their property, I wish to have it divided so it doesn’t look so terrible from the street.
What is the best type of shrub /hedge that doesn’t need lots of care and doesn’t get too big. Or is having a fence a better route? What should I do?

I have a medium/large yard with a fairly short fence. I want a greater sense of privacy in my yard. I think I would rather opt for a natural barrier than replacing all of my current fence. I am willing and able to care for whatever I plant, but would appreciate any tips about good trees or shrubs for the job.
I live in North /central Kentucky,

Regina D asked: The leaves are a beautiful peach/coral color. I can find nothing about this particular honeysuckle shrub, or its care, and whether it tolerates partial shade. I would like to buy another if it’s not invasive and tolerates some shade. Could it be a type of hybred? I was told it grows 5 ft. tall and wide.
I purchased at a nursery. The label gave no information.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hugs&Kisses asked:
My local Lowes store has a huge discount on shrubs this weekend. I wanted to know if they would keep in my garage over the winter and then plant them in the spring? Has anyone ever did this? I put them in the ground one year (did not take out of the container) but the majority of them died. Thought maybe the garage would be better. Let me know. Thanks for any help.

(These aren’t tiny little spiders either. They are big and brown and everywhere. Maybe brown recluse?)

Carolina Lover asked:
I have weeds up under my shrubs that line the front of my house 2 or 3 bushes have already turned brown, and the others aren’t looking too healthy. How can I get rid of the weeds and preserve the bushes (not to mention how will I get them looking normal again)??
They are all the way up through, and tangled in, the shrubs, also.
