A development company finished contruction on a new shopping mall and office building. To make the place look more appealing, they did substantial landscaping including planting trees, shrubs and gardens. Can depreciation deductions be claimed on any of the items aboce, IF SO, what is the depreciable life?

Okay so this is what happen. Someone told me that if I throw soil on top of my grass that my grass will die and won’t grow anymore. Well that didn’t happen! My back yard is big! I did 40yrds worth of landscaping and now grass is growing thru all my landscaping! How can I get rid of the grass underneth my landscaping w/ out digging up all my plants and garden soil? I’m soo stressed out and just don’t know what to do anymore.

We started a “landscaping” company called the Odd Job Squad last summer where we do just about any odd job for people and we have gotten fairly well known throughout a couple of towns by word of mouth and handing out hundreds of flyers. We have been making enough money now (about $15,000 a summer between 3 people) and have become well known enough that we are thinking about registering our company. What does this entail and what could doing this save us from legally (IRS, working liabilities, etc.)? Thanks!
