I would like to buy landscaping lights that put out some good lighting. I prefer the solar but I have seen them in action and they have very poor lighting. Does anyone know of a good quality landscaping lighting? Thank you for your answers.

I want to landscape near my fence. I have hoed out the grass that was growing there. Do I need to put down that landscaping fabric or can I just put down the mulch? Will the mulch alone keep the grass from growing back?

What can i do to my landscaping stone/pebbles to give them that wet glossy look?

jules asked:

I recently put down landscaping pebbles/stone around my house and i like the look of them wet and glossy when i first put them down. Now that they are dried out the color kind of clashes with my brick home. Can i spray a wet glossy sealer on them and mix them around for that look? Will that hurt my plants? PLease help or offer suggestions.

What other functions might landscaping companies perform during the winter months to earn income?

I am a graduate student preparing a business plan for a landscaping company. With this I have run into a sort of dead end concerning revenue during the winter months. I am trying to figure out what the company might do during the winter time when landscapers can not work.

Are fresh, untreated wood chips good (and safe) to use for landscaping?

December 6th, 2007 by admin

Don P asked:

A neighbor had some cedar and other evergreen trees removed from his yard. The tree company that did the job had lots of wood chips when they were done. The foreman offered me a small truckload of them for landscaping purposes. Of course there is a relatively small percentage of bark mixed with the wood chips, and of course a lot of small branches and pine needles.

My question: Is it a good idea to use these wood chips for landscaping, to cover our flower beds, like you would use store-bought beauty bark? Or would it possibly cause problems due to rotting, or be a magnet for termites and other nasty little critters?

And if those things aren’t problems, do you think it would make a good ground-cover? Can you think of any other uses for it?

Any advice before I pay to have it hauled away would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
