Who usually pays for the plants, sod, trees, dirt, mulch, etc…….. up front? The person doing the landscaping or the contractor? Does the contractor usually pay for the materials up front and the labor once the job is done? Or does it go like this, the contractor pays 1/2 up front and the other 1/2 once the job is done?

Dinosaur asked:
Will this grass grow back if I water it every day or should I apply lawn patch to it? In some areas the grass is mixed with yellow and green so that’s why I was askig if I should water it or not. Some grass is yellow right next to my landscaping bricks and it is all around in patches. The yellow grass extends maybe about 10 inches out in 2 areas, 3-4 inches in the rest of the areas.
i forgot to mention that i applied ortho grass and weed killer which might have killed off the grass. in that case will watering help?

sierra_91_2000 asked: What type of pine tree is best for landscaping? Are there types that grow faster than others? Or I am open for other tree suggestions?
Some of my yard is fenced but there is a field in the back and I would like to grow a row of pine for privacy and to help block some of the North wind.

So I have a serious weed problem. Every year I pull and pull and it looks clean for about 2 weeks then BAMN, 2-3 ft tall weeds in my landscaping, and fast, and everywhere. It’s absolutely overwhelming. We even have this really nasty one out front that grows to over 2 stories and completely overtook a tree (we had to cut down the whole thing, and I poured an entire bottle of extra strength roundup… the tree is dead, the weed is back.) How do I get rid of these nasty 2-3 feet perennial suckers without killing the rest of my landscaping? Tarp and mulch hasn’t worked… I’m assuming that the weed seeds might have spread to the mulch itself — I’m ready to WD-40 and salt my entire yard. Help!

ERIN B asked:
I have owned and operated a landscaping company for the past 10 years. I have been maintaining residential properties and I am interested in expanding to commercial maintenance and landscaping installation. I have insurance and the equipment to handle the jobs, but have no idea where to look for them. Is there a website or something that would tell me what jobs are coming up for bid so that I might be able to prepare something? Thanks for your help.

I’m looking for some things I can print out…a do-it-yourself landscaping where they draw pictures and label what plants to put where. I’m not good with landscaping and this would help-I’ve seen it before but just have no idea where to look for it. Thanks!

I’m interested in natural landscaping for our vacation home in Western Maryland. We will not get a chance to water frequently, etc. Need a list of a few shrubs and ornamental plants/flowers which I can put on the property. Thanks!

A friend and I were wondering if we could begin in the field of landscaping before we “build up” to the attaining of a business licence.
