My son has to do a project for school drawing a plant or tree for each letter of the alphabet. Such as zucchini for z. Do you know any plants or trees that start with X? If so, do you know a web site that has a picture of it so my son can see what to draw. Thanks!

lefty lucky asked:
I heard that willow trees could possibly be planted inside the body of water and grow to extend outward past the surface of the water. Is this true? and more importantly, are there any other trees that do this as well?

Boris the American asked:
I understand ailanthus trees produce an allelopathic chemical, primarily from its roots, that inhibits the growth of other trees. Does anyone know how long this chemical remains toxic after ailanthus trees are cut down or removed? I’ve got a bunch of them that I’d like to eventually remove and replace with maples or oaks, etc. Or, does anyone know of any other trees that are not hindered by the ailanthus toxin?

Lala asked:
I am curious about opinions– should we plant trees prior to a tree dying so that the replacement can be much larger when the older tree comes out? Would you want this done if it were your street? WHy do we need to replant / replace trees?

Hi. I am re-landscaping some bad parts of my yard. I need to buy a TON of trees as I live out in the country and have a lot of places to landscape. I cannot afford to buy expensive trees - but I still want to find trees that will grow fast.
Anyone know a good place to look?
